Policy:

Government properties, increase rent to minimum of 70% of Commercial rent, currently on average of 50%.

Increase rent to minimum of 70% of estimated Commercial rent, currently being charged on average of 50% of the commercial rent.

Increase Rent to 110% of Commercial rent if household earning over £50,000 pa. Objective is to incentivise freeing up housing and moving to Commercial property resulting in releasing properties for more people in need and repay the subsidy enjoyed.

For new builds, the Government should acquire suitable green belt land (land designated to prevent urban sprawl) and/or grey belt land (previously developed, poor-quality sites within the Green Belt) and then grant planning permission to keep costs down for the state.
