The Honest Truth is that living standards in the UK as well as life expectancy are decreasing and there are not sufficient actions being taken to reverse those declines.
The Honest Truth, the UK needs to get a grip of its finances, reducing National Debt which currently stands at £82,000 per working person (£2.8 Trillion total) and the annual cost of running the country is £38,000 per working person (£1.2 Trillion total) of which £4,139 per working tax paying person is in paying debt interest on the Government spending money in the past that it did not have, which has to be repaid by future generations.
Trillions are not number we can comprehend, so an often used comparison is if £1 were a second, how long would £2.8 Trillion be, the answer is 88,755 years, another would be if I earned £30,000 pa how many years would it take to repay, the answer is 93.333 million years.
The aim is to provide a better future and to this need to get to grips with Government finances and reverse the current additional annual public sector net borrowing of £120 Billion which includes Capital Expenditure to an ambitious but achievable National Debt reduction of £100 Billion per year. That is £220 Billion combination of Extra Taxes or Reduced spending per year, every year, until the National Debt is sustainable.
Once the UK gets through the stages of grief on getting through denial, anger, bargaining, depression and on to acceptance, then all need to focus on the now situation and what should be done to improve the future. Growth in the Economy is a huge positive factor in paying down the debt, a Growth figure of 21.57% would be required to reduce the National Debt by £220 Billion per year, without having to change Government Taxes or Expenditure. However UK growth since pandemic is struggling to reach 1.5% pa.
You can see the last Manifestos from the main parties from the last 2024 General Election, to demonstrate they are failing to grasp what is needed.
A real movement and change on priority and sense of urgency is required and don't keep complaining about the worst inheritance or kicking the solution down the line, action is required now.
AI has been used to find what changes should be considered and these are laid out in this website to share with you. AI uses official figures where it can find them but does not have access to all data and therefor makes a guess until more data is provided. Many of these solutions will be accepted as necessary but undoubtedly some will be unpopular/contentious with many people. We hope they will all be considered, evolved and combined with additional ideas with the end result of a series of measures that the UK Government will implement to create a better future.
Consider if this situation is not tackled the position only gets worse and the medicine will become more unpalatable every year, needs a sense of urgency and “can do” attitude as there are many great opportunities that can be seized once UK base is solid. Please read on through the website and investigate what changes have been suggested by AI and indicate your level of support with a click and let’s get working on the changes that are required.
To have your say, give your views and let’s get a FixUK movement going or contact your MP Link or contact your political party. This website is not affiliated with any Political party or Organisation and its simple aim is to encourage change in the UK to provide a better future for all using AI to get the conversation going and action taken as soon as possible. Using a pragmatic approach. You will maybe notice that AI has agreed with many individual polices of different parties.
No donations required but if you feel moved by fixUK, then please donate to a Charity to help them. However if anybody can provide help in involving spreading the message to get involved, please contact Support@fixUK.uk. The challenge to the UK’s Political Parties is to provide the electorate with actions they will implement if elected to reduce the National Debt by at least £100 Billion a year by increasing Taxes and reducing Expenditure, then the electorate as always, will choose!
