£25 charge for GP visits, with the vulnerable fully protected.

Our GP services are under immense pressure. To protect them, we need an honest conversation about how we use and fund them. The plan has three parts.

The first proposal is a £25 charge for GP visits, with the vulnerable fully protected. This would ask those who can afford it to contribute a small amount, with every penny reinvested into improving services. Around 50% of people go to GP surgeries for reassurance, whilst the other 50% for treatment or advise.

Secondly, plan includes a world-class triage service to provide instant, professional reassurance, saving you time and money on unnecessary Doctor appointments. This may take form of seeing a trained healthcare professional that would not be a qualified Doctor, or a nurse or a specialist or pharmacist, depending on the needs and symptoms of the patient.

Thirdly, the proposal is that GP surgeries and Healthcare centres must be open six days a week, so you can get an appointment at a time that works for you.

This isn't about charging for the NHS; it's a comprehensive plan designed to deliver better access, faster reassurance, and more convenient appointments for everyone.
