Reclaim historic fraudulent benefit and grant claims with a modern, methodical, determined approach, targeting a recovery of at least £20 Billion but hopefully more.
Over the last decade, an estimated £60-£70 Billion has been lost to fraudulent benefit and grant claims.
It's time to reclaim these funds with a modern, methodical, determined approach, targeting a recovery of at least £20 Billion but hopefully more.
This can be achieved through a two-pronged strategy:
A Path to Repayment: A national tip line will be launched across email, text, social media, and an AI-powered phone line, making it easier than ever to report fraud. In parallel, a limited-time amnesty will be offered, allowing individuals to come forward and repay what they owe with reduced penalties.
Targeted Enforcement: A special task force, combining resources from multiple government departments, using up some of the change in roles required to adapt to change, will be dedicated to dismantling the large-scale, professional criminal operations behind systemic fraud.
Simultaneously, efforts to stop fraud at the source will be intensified, with tougher penalties acting as a powerful deterrent.
This ensures that taxpayer money is protected, and that vital support reaches only those who truly deserve it, restoring integrity to the welfare system.
